  • Transverse Myelitis is a rare condition (1 case per 1.3 million patients), it follow a viral infection in approximately 30% of cases, and in 60-70% of the cases involve the thoracic cord
  • Thyrotoxic Periodic Paralysis affects the lower extremities greater than upper extremities, and proximal greater than distal muscle groups. When replacing K, watch for rebound hyperkalemia.
  • Remember peumothorax when working up chest pain. Check chest xray closely and monitor patient for tension physiology.
